Labor day weekend!!

Before I get into my wonderful Labor day weekend, I have some catching up to do. I realize I have failed to inform you of how my meatless week went. It went really well actually, I lost around 4 lbs, but the next weigh in wasn't quite as hot. Since then I have been pretty much up and down each week. SOOOOOOO frustrating!! So, I continue to keep trying and succeeding and failing. The weekend before last was great (and too short, as all weekends are) I had breakfast at Mimi's Cafe with my wonderful friend. We were so busy talking that I only ate about half of my food, which was good since there aren't really any healthy/point friendly options there. Then I headed back to Agent P's apartment and spent the day with him. We rented movies as we always do and at sushi and at a cute little french restaurant. We rented Repo Men, which was okay & a little strange but we both fell asleep so I guess that's not such a great recommendation for that movie, and Temple Grandin. I really enjoyed Temple Grandin, I had never heard of it before but got it on a whim and I think Agent P liked it too. We also rented another movie, but I wasn't really interested so Agent P decided to watch it later with his roommate.
Okay, now for Labor day weekend. We had family in town from Georgia. They are the awesomest (not really a word, but it totally should be). Even though it had been a year since we've seen them, it always seems like we are around each other all of the time. Six of them stayed with me and the sis. We were able to make room, and it was so nice to have my first official house guest. One of the best things about family visiting is that you visit neat places near you that you would never go to otherwise. We visited the windmills

and the refuge

as well as other various places we never take advantage of. It was a wonderful weekend, and Agent P got to meet everybody, which was nice for me and probably overwhelming for him.
That's about it for now. I am gonna go get ready for p90x because Tori and Ari are on their way and after that we are going to a foam party (not really my typical scene but I'm game). Have a great night all!

And so I must apologize again...

I'm sorry it's been so long since my last post. Like I may have told you earlier many sites (including this one) have been blocked recently at work. However, I finally have internet access at my house. Hopefully this means that I will be posting more often...
Now on to what I've been up to. I started p90x! We just started week 3 & I wouldn't have made it this far without my workout buddies Tori & Ari! Thanks girls. It's a little difficult for us to all find a space in my living room but we make it work. I am starting to see the very very (small) beginning of a six pack (I think). I feel really good though. Now if only I could get my eating completely under control. That's always tomorrows mission, and I am always hoping that tomorrow is the day it sticks.
That's pretty much everything that's gone on recently, boring I know. I am really looking forward to the next couple of weeks though. This weekend I am going up to visit Agent P! So it looks like maybe the eating well won't happen over the weekend, but you can look for our food finds (we like to think of ourselves as foodies). Also I am meeting one of my best friends that I never get to see for breakfast on Saturday. I haven't seen her in over a year, so this is a treat for each of us. Now we've just gotta come up with a good breakfast spot in mid-north OKC. If anybody has any suggestions, please share!

Now I'm off for a late dinner. Night readers!

Veg out...

So I have not been doing so well on my weight loss journey lately. It's completely my fault & I know it. So to help myself get back on track I have decided to do something kinda drastic. I have decided for this WW week I'm gonna avoid meat. It's not because I have a moral opposition to meat or feel like I'm going to have a dietary benefit for me but because I think focusing on making sure I don't have one thing in my diet will also help me focus on everything I consume. Wish me luck, I'll let you know how it goes.
Also, I'm not able to post at work anymore :( so if I am sparatic in my posting again, I'm sorry!

What's going on

It has been quite an eventful week for me. We'll start with last Friday. I visited Agent P and my parents happened to be in the city not far from us and they called me to see if we wanted to eat dinner with them. This was the first time they met, and all went well. Of course it did because he's pretty great. We ate at Ted's Cafe Escondido. It was good & I ate too much (of course, because I inhale the complimentary chips, salsa, queso and tortillas). Then we rented some movies and got some snacks. We rented My Neighbor Totoro, The Book of Eli and A Bug's Life. All of them were really good and are recommended by me. Agent P got me into anime and they are really fun to watch. And The Book of Eli surprised me, but then again I didn't really know much about it going into the movie. And I just love A Bug's Life and we wanted to get something we've seen and liked.
Saturday we ventured into OKC to try a place a came across on Living Social. This is a great site that gets you deals in major city's across America and also has 365 cool things to do in those city's. You should definitely check it out! One of the 365 cool things in OKC is Big Truck Tacos. This place is really cool & I wish I had taken some pictures (but sometimes I'm not such a girl and don't take pictures of anything). They have a variety of options including bison, tilapia, pork, chicken, brisket, tongue (yes you read that correctly), avocado and more. They also have one called the 5th amendment taco that changes daily and only the cooks know what's in it. They are supposed to reveal the ingredients daily on their Facebook page but they haven't posted what we ate yet :( but if I had to guess I think it was pork tenderloin with black beans and mango (and it was goooood!). We got the bison, tilapia and pork verde tacos in addition to the 5th amendment and all were deliciousness. Then we went to the amazing Cao Nguyen Market. They have everything you could think of plus so many things you haven't even heard of before. We got some snacks and such then went to the mall for some shopping. I had some birthday money I wanted to spend, but I didn't find a thing! Argh! But I think it's just hard for me to shop with someone else, even though Agent P was patient and didn't rush me or act like he was annoyed waiting on me at all. I just don't like to feel like I'm making someone wait for me. We came home and watched some of our movies then he made pork belly for everyone, It was soooo good too. Sorry but I can't find any pictures online that look like what he made but it was wrapped in lettuce with rice and some sauces. He'll definitely be making it again!
Sunday morning my sis texted me that she thought our dog was going to die. She was really sick and Allie took her to my dad (he's a vet). More on Scarlet (the dog) later. We went to church and I got to see some friends from camp that I adore. We grabbed a quick lunch then I headed home to get to a wedding shower for my friends who are getting married next month.
Now about Scarlet. Unfortunately she didn't get any better & I'm not going to give any gory details but she was in pretty bad shape. Dad had to put her down on Wednesday. He was supposed to do it Tuesday but couldn't bring himself to do it (I know I couldn't have, I'm about to start crying just thinking about her now). Tuesday night we met some friends and ate dinner and played board games, so that was a nice way to get our minds off of it. Allie got a couple of cards and gifts for the loss of the dog (she was Allies girl). Everyone has been really sweet about it and the dog we have left (my Missy) has been comforting Allie too. We miss Scarlet but all is as well as it can be. Scarlet's being cremated and we should have her back tomorrow I think.
And that's about it for my week so far. I have a WW recipe Asian style pork roast in the crock pot for dinner (YUM!) and plans with an old friend after that. Hopefully I will have internet at home soon and be able to post pics of things. That's it for now.

It's been way too long...I'm sorry

I guess that only really applies to Tori because I think she may be the only one that even knows I have a blog again. Oh well, if you do read it I'm sorry it's been so long since I updated!
I had been planning on posting forever ago & actually had a post started:
Yesterday was Thursday which is usually my favorite day of the week. Why, you may ask? Because it's the day one of my best friends is the boss (and she'll return soon, she just had a baby), we have bowling/fun night with friends and it's so close to the weekend that you can almost taste it. The boss thing and bowling/fun night is on hold for a few weeks as my friend recovers from having a baby, but it was still awesome anyway.
I have been trying to be better about exercising. Starting Wednesday I am stopping at the 3 mile track on post (I live in a military town). I am working up to running all of it, but yesterday I ran a mile of it (not consecutively) . Not too terrible. Yesterday also marked a month until my 25th birthday, so I set a goal. My goal is to get into shape. I am terrible about starting up a workout plan and then not following through after a few weeks. My attempt is to do Jillian Michaels 30 day shred every day until then. This doesn't mean...
That's all I had. SO...since then the friend/boss came back to work part time last week (she'll be here the whole day tomorrow). I turned 25. Spent a week as a counselor at church camp. It was great!!! and I had a wonderful group of girls. I was pretty successful at my plan to get into shape...for about a week and a half (haha, go me!) and that's about it. I did get up to running 2¼ miles, but I haven't been in over 3 weeks so I think it's probably all been lost :(
I did get my bike tuned up, it looks like this. I've been on it once but hopefully that will improve soon. I also got p90x. I've done it once before about half way through (I came in at the midpoint). I've been bugging Agent P to get it for me and he finally remembered so hopefully that will give me more of an incentive since I asked for it for so long, but probably not.
I also officially discovered Etsy today! I had heard of it before but just failed to realize it's awesomeness! I want this, these, this and this the list could go on and on.

Well, that's all for today. Thanks for reading.

Oh yeah A Classic Pearl has an adorable blog and she's having a fabulous giveaway celebrating her 100th post! Help her celebrate by checking her out and entering for your chance to win!

Weigh in Wednesday

My actual weigh in day for WW (Weight Watchers) is Tuesday, but it's after work so the likelihood of me posting about it on actual weigh in day is small. Yesterday I lost 0.4lbs. Yay! Since I am nearing the end of my weight loss journey I understand that I might not loose a lot each week & I'll take what I can get.
On that note, I think on these days I am going to be sharing a favorite recipe. Today's is slow cooker lasagna. I love this one. It is super easy (I am all about the slow cooker/crock pot recipes) and taste great. I do like to "health it up" by adding veggies to it. This time I added 1 carrot shredded, ½ of a zucchini shredded, about ½ cup chopped mushrooms and ½ cup chopped spinach. Personally I love vegetables, but my sister isn't the biggest fan. She couldn't tell they were in there & wouldn't have even known about them if she hadn't walked in while I was stirring in the muhrooms (the only part she really had a problem with). If you try it, I hope you enjoy it!
Also speaking of WW, my boyfriend (I think I'll call him agent P) has decided to count point this week. Not that he needs to, I think it's more for support than anything. However, he is always telling me that he thinks it would be easy to stay within his daily limit, which is 32 by the way (I get 22). This is going to be so fun & I truly appreciate his effort. Good luck agent P! Thanks again everyone for reading.
