It has been quite an eventful week for me. We'll start with last Friday. I visited Agent P and my parents happened to be in the city not far from us and they called me to see if we wanted to eat dinner with them. This was the first time they met, and all went well. Of course it did because he's pretty great. We ate at
Ted's Cafe Escondido. It was good & I ate too much (of course, because I inhale the complimentary chips, salsa, queso and tortillas). Then we rented some movies and got some snacks. We rented
My Neighbor Totoro,
The Book of Eli and
A Bug's Life. All of them were really good and are recommended by me. Agent P got me into anime and they are really fun to watch. And The Book of Eli surprised me, but then again I didn't really know much about it going into the movie. And I just love A Bug's Life and we wanted to get something we've seen and liked.
Saturday we ventured into OKC to try a place a came across on
Living Social. This is a great site that gets you deals in major city's across America and also has 365 cool things to do in those city's. You should definitely check it out! One of the 365 cool things in OKC is
Big Truck Tacos. This place is really cool & I wish I had taken some pictures (but sometimes I'm not such a girl and don't take pictures of anything). They have a variety of options including bison, tilapia, pork, chicken, brisket, tongue (yes you read that correctly), avocado and more. They also have one called the 5th amendment taco that changes daily and only the cooks know what's in it. They are supposed to reveal the ingredients daily on their Facebook page but they haven't posted what we ate yet :( but if I had to guess I think it was pork tenderloin with black beans and mango (and it was goooood!). We got the bison, tilapia and pork verde tacos in addition to the 5th amendment and all were deliciousness. Then we went to the amazing
Cao Nguyen Market. They have everything you could think of plus so many things you haven't even heard of before. We got some snacks and such then went to the mall for some shopping. I had some birthday money I wanted to spend, but I didn't find a thing! Argh! But I think it's just hard for me to shop with someone else, even though Agent P was patient and didn't rush me or act like he was annoyed waiting on me at all. I just don't like to feel like I'm making someone wait for me. We came home and watched some of our movies then he made pork belly for everyone, It was soooo good too. Sorry but I can't find any pictures online that look like what he made but it was wrapped in lettuce with rice and some sauces. He'll definitely be making it again!
Sunday morning my sis texted me that she thought our dog was going to die. She was really sick and Allie took her to my dad (he's a vet). More on Scarlet (the dog) later. We went to church and I got to see some friends from camp that I adore. We grabbed a quick lunch then I headed home to get to a wedding shower for my friends who are getting married next month.
Now about Scarlet. Unfortunately she didn't get any better & I'm not going to give any gory details but she was in pretty bad shape. Dad had to put her down on Wednesday. He was supposed to do it Tuesday but couldn't bring himself to do it (I know I couldn't have, I'm about to start crying just thinking about her now). Tuesday night we met some friends and ate dinner and played board games, so that was a nice way to get our minds off of it. Allie got a couple of cards and gifts for the loss of the dog (she was Allies girl). Everyone has been really sweet about it and the dog we have left (my Missy) has been comforting Allie too. We miss Scarlet but all is as well as it can be. Scarlet's being cremated and we should have her back tomorrow I think.
And that's about it for my week so far. I have a WW recipe Asian style pork roast in the crock pot for dinner (YUM!) and plans with an old friend after that. Hopefully I will have internet at home soon and be able to post pics of things. That's it for now.
